SAFTAD beats the weather

Braving sleet and the bitter Johannesburg cold, SAFTAD reports that representatives from 262 retail stores visited this year’s SAFTAD Show (SA fishing tackle trade show) – 131 on Saturday, with an additional 131 stores registering on Sunday. Despite the economic downturn, 32% more retail stores sent representatives to the show than last year. To place this in perspective: the 2009 European Fishing Tackle Trade Show (EFTTEX) drew 338 retail visitors (not companies) from across Europe – this was 23% of their total number of visitors (4619). There were 49 exhibitors at SAFTAD this year, compared to 54 last year.
